Who Are We?

The Spokane Ballet Ensemble is a nonprofit performing arts organization providing pre-professional dance students with training in classical ballet repertoire and performance opportunities and enriching the greater Spokane Community through educational and entertaining productions.

In the past years, SBE dancers performed internationally touring in London, Paris, Russia, Denmark, Spain, Morocco, Australia and Fiji. Former SBE dancers have gone on to professional ballet careers dancing with companies such as the Pacific NW Ballet, Nevada Ballet Theater and the Disney Corporation. Some SBE dancers are now studying dance at universities nationwide, and others are teaching dance.

SBE School Performances

For the past 22 years, the SBE has been staging quality ballet performances at area elementary schools. Elementary school gymnasiums are transformed into theaters, complete with special flooring, backdrops, sound systems, lighting and wings. SBE has performed for nearly every elementary school in the greater Spokane area, including the Coeur D'Alene schools. There are currently four performances each school year reaching approximately 500 children per school. Through the 22 years of SBE performances over 30,000 children have benefited from the productions.

Community Performance Fundraiser

Community Performance Fundraiser for the Food Bank has been SBE's mission for the past six years. SBE performs an annual performance at a major theater, such as the MET. Community audiences have experience the same high quality performances at those staged at the area elementary schools. This year we proudly contributed to the Spokane Community College's Food Bank through our production of Sleeping Beauty.
