Melody Cabrera
Graduated from Ferris High School, during my time there I was on the gymnastics, dance and cheer teams. Then went on to get my Bachelors of Arts and Education from Eastern Washington University.
I have grown up at the Dance Center of Spokane. I started in “Mommy and Me” classes when I was two years old and then grew up to pass through my Advanced 2 Ballet Exam and Intermediate Tap Exam. While dancing at the DCOS I was an active member of both the competition team and Spokane Ballet Ensemble. For the competition team I competed in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, modern and contemporary. During my time with the Spokane Ballet Ensemble I danced many roles throughout the years finally dancing the lead roles of Snow Queen in The Nutcracker as a Sophomore, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty as a Junior, and Cinderella in Cinderella as a Senior.
After graduating high school I went away for college for a few years and then came back to start teaching at the DCOS in 2013. I have been teaching at the studio ever since. I have previously taught ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, acro and yoga and have been Artistic Director of Spokane Ballet Ensemble. I currently teach ballet and am the Assistant Director of TEAM.
You can see Melody teaching ballet on Tuesdays.
